Â鶹ÊÓƵ Health names Dr. Thomas Alberico to its Board of Directors
Alberico is an experienced medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine leader
Virginia-based Â鶹ÊÓƵ Health has named Dr. Thomas Alberico to its board of directors.
Alberico brings nearly 40 years of experience with Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA), where his keen interest in advancing cancer care has contributed greatly to the success of VOA’s cancer clinical research program.
In addition to being voted Top Oncologist and Top Hematologist by his peers for the last ten years, Alberico has received the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation’s Beecham Award, as well as the American Cancer Society Clinical Fellowship Award.
Alberico has served as Medical Oncologist/Hematologist at the University of Virginia, and as Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine for the Medical College of Hampton Roads, Eastern Virginia Medical School. He also served as Cancer Committee Chairman, Chief of Hematology-Oncology, and Director of the Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Norfolk General Hospital.
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board of Directors includes a diverse group of business executives, physicians, and community leaders serving Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s not-for-profit mission.
Alberico will serve a three-year term, which began in January.
